Well if I were to allow armor, what I'd do is... For light armor (heavy leathers and such) I'd give the player +1 Brawn die to soak damage. For heavy armor (steel breastplates and such) I'd give +2 Brawn to soak damage. And just to keep armor unpopular I'd also apply a die penalty equal to the armor level (1 or 2) to any rolls involving full body movement.
