I made this an Eisen school because I got the original idea of a sabre style from a documentary about the sabre duelling societies at Heidelburg in Germany - I have a 'Prussian' adversary in mind for my players, and wanted a style that fitted the character. This opponent, Gerhard Blucher, is a very methodical, humourless man and the frivolous swashbuckling antics of the PCs will drive him crazy :-) Yes, the character concept is probably an anachronism, but it should be a fun one... As for the style, judging from the comments I'll change it to require expenditure of a Drama Die to use the Apprentice knack, and treat that as one attack doing 3k3 damage but with the raised TN (similar in some ways to firing two pistols at an opponent). Revised text would be: Apprentice technique: The Blitzen fencer can double-slash, making a single attack with the TN raised by 10; damage is upgraded to 3k3. A Drama Die must be expended to use this technique, but does not add to the attack roll. Finally, Geoff Wledig suggested that this could be a Pirate Nations school, and Lef Fovrin thought it better as an Ussuran 'Cossack' style. I still prefer to keep this as a school for non-noble Eisen officers (who don't have dracheneisen armour), but now I'm wondering what a Pirate cutlass fighting style, or an Ussuran mounted style, would look like... any ideas? -- Contents Copyright (C) 1997,98,99 by ALDERAC ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, INC.
