It was possible to make miniature "pocket pistols" of quite small size - but they were very short ranged - similar in use to a derringer of the "Old West". I have managed to find some examples of historical pistols that may be of some use. It is by no means exhaustive. I dare say some of the blackpowder reenctors on the list will be able to give practical weights from their own experience: Italian Wheellock (circa 1530) - .437 cal, 15.5" long with 11.5" barrel. 36 oz (1.02kg) German "snaphance" (early flintlock) - circa 1575 - .675 cal, 15.75" long with 8.2" barrel. 59oz (1.67kg) Spanish Flintlock (early 1700s) - .669 cal, 20.5" long with 13.4" barrel. 36oz (1.02kg) Spanish Flintlock (1720 or so) - .625 cal, 21.25" long with 14.1" barrel. 49oz (1.39kg) English Holster Pistol (1780) - .62 cal, 14.75" long with 8.5" barrels. 32oz (.91kg) English Pocket Pistol (1740) - .5 cal, 6.6" long with 3" barrel. 12oz (.34kg) I have details of a number of others, but they are broadly similar, falling into three basic categories: 1. "saddle" pistols for use on horseback - around .6 - .69 cal, about 2.5-3.5lb, 13-16" barrels 2. "holster" pistols for carrying on foot - around .6 - .69 cal, about 2 - 2.5lb, 7 - 9" barrels 3. "pocket" pistols for carrying concealed - around .4 - .5 cal, about 3/4 - 1lb, 2.5 - 4" barrel Basically, in this period, if you wanted a weapon tailored to your particular needs you would approach the gunsmith and order it - no mass production to speak of. I suspect that in Theah, Montaigne gunsmiths would almost certainly make firearms small enough to Porte. Hope it helps.
