This book has been banned by the inquisition, so those of you who come across it, should take this as fair warning. Clear and Worthy Observations on the Art of Capturing Spirits A very rare work, only seven copies are known to survive. The book was penned by infamous J.V. LaPore, a Montaigne philosopher and sorcerer responsible for popularizing the idea of using trapped sprits as a means of entertainment for bored nobility. The book is not an easy work to read, filled with arcane references to the sorcerers of the old republic and numerous difficult Montaigne terms and expressions, many of which seem to have been invented by LaPore to describe the philosophy and language of the spirit world. There are those who contend that the book is in fact a cipher of sorts and that LaPore has left a coded legacy for those keen enough to decipher the secrets hidden within. It should be noted that J.V. LaPore came to a brutal and mysterious end. He disappeared from his locked room on a clear summer night, his body was never found but the room he disappeared in was covered from ceiling to floor in blood, much more than would be expect to be found in a single man.
