Senators respond by seeking out the power of sorcery to unseat him. ~ Approximately 50 years pass. 1 AV The first Prophet appears. 2, 2nd of Quintus. First Prophet is martyred. 3 The High Imperator declares the Prophet’s teachings the official church of the empire. 100-300 The Old Republic splits into Eastern and Western Empires as barbarian raiders attack. Barbarian barons and senators fight to be recognized as the High Imperator. 305 The Second Prophet appears, calling for the Great Pilgrimage. 306 The Second Prophet dies on the edge of the Crescent Empire, triggering years of militant crusades. 312 Following the crusades, Imperator Corantine conquers the remnants of the Old Republic. 325 The Corantine Convention presents the Vaticine Credo to Corantine. 376 The aged Corantine dies. His three sons divide his Empire between them. Their lesser kingdoms quickly fall. 523 Early Eisen soldiers under General Idun von der Velde invades Ussura, only to die in freak storms. 600 Imperator Carleman conquers Montaigne, Eisen & Vodacce, and is declared ‘High Imperator’ by Vaticine Church. Also this year the city of Tara (in Inismore) falls under a powerful curse. ~ Years later the O’Bannon breaks the Curse on Tara. ~ For centuries Castillian’s mingle with Crescents. ~ Crescents build the city now known as San Christobal. 900-1300 The Middle Ages. The ‘White Plague’ destroys one third of Théah’s population. 972, 15th of Primus. The Third Prophet is born. 1000 The Third Prophet appears in Castille at the site which will become the Vaticine City. This marks the beginning of the New Crusades. The Crescents driven from Castille. 1004 Creation of the Inquisition. 1022 The Prophet declare Castille to be the new seat of the church. Construction of the Vaticine City begins. 1032, 15th of Primus. The Third Prophet dies in his bed. ~Sorcery is hidden for over 500 years. 1066 Montaigne invades Avalon. Avalon experiences parliamentary government for the first time. ~ The Lightning Guard of the Montaigne Kings formed 1099 The New Crusades succeed in conquering a portion of the Crescent Empire Rise. 1267 The Hierophant announces the Declaration of Deference. The Stein, a military fortress, is built at what will become Freiburg. 1312 The Poor Knights of the Prophet are condemned as heretics and destroyed. This marks the end of Western control over Crescent land. 1386 The Castillian royal family dies from plague. 1411 The die Kruezritter are destroyed at the Battle of Tannen. ~1460’s The chivalric knight Bastion dies. The Fall of Chivalry begins. 1473 The merchant guilds humble the king of Montaigne. 1517, Octavus. Mattias Leiber posts his questions, beginning the Objectionist Movement. King Franz II rules Eisen at this time. ~Ussuran’s give up on the shieldwall. ~Carls revolt against the Jarls and the Vendel League is formed. 1598 The Jenny’s Guild is formed. The Explorer Society is founded by Cameron MacCormick. 1608 The first microscopes are invented. 1610 Scholars finish their "map of the Interior of the Human Body". 1613 Plague threatens Castille. Methods of quarantine are developed, quickly ending the treat. ~ The majority of Théah abandons the short sword and buckler for lighter weapons. ~ Montaigne faith in the Vaticine Church declines. 1636 Imperator Weiss, a moderate in religious matters, dies. The new Imperator Riefenstahl is fanatically Vaticine. His religious policies trigger thirty years of war in Eisen. 1637 Vendel armies defeat Eisen at the Last Battle of the Stein. 1639 Syrneth ruins discovered in the Vodacce Mountains. 1644 The Swordsman’s Guild is founded. 1648 5th of Sextus, The corsair Kheired-Din makes his first raid on western shores. 1649 Eisenfürst Fischler finds a dracheneisen vein. 1652 Good King Sandoval is born. 1656 The Frieburg Gazette is founded. This is Théah’s first weekly newspaper. ~Avalon is exhausted by civil war. 1658 Avalon’s countries united under Queen Elaine. Elaine moves the capital of Avalon from Luthon to Carleon. Also this year microscopes refined by a Vendel inventor, Entomology invented, and the Inquisition’s power grows in Castille. 1659 Salvador Aldana, king of Castille orders the construction of an armada to sail against Avalon. Avalon declares religious independence from Vaticine Church, and a Castillian doctor writes the first medical description of typhoid fever. 1660 A pencil factory built in Castille, marking the first use of mass-production. 1661 Avalon scientist Jeremy Cook writes The Rational Chemist. Franz Deleboe killed after denouncing the ‘humor theory’ of medicine. 1662 Jeremy Cook invents the air pump. Latter this year he is shot by the inquisition. Maria Alverado uses a large ball of sulfur to generate a static charge. 1664 The guilder is introduced by the Vendel. It catches on like wildfire. 1665 Several outbreaks of White Plague are noted. "Antonio", a Vodacce astronomer, discovers rotation periods of Guer and Re, while midwifery forceps are invented in Avalon. Also, the Luthon Weekly newspaper enters print. 1666 Imperator Riefenstahl hangs himself, bringing to an end the War of the Cross. The Hierophant also dies this year under mysterious circumstances. Without a Hierophant to guide them, the Inquisition rapidly gains power and research slows. At the direction of the Inquisition, church forces march on Montaigne. Montegue rises to the rank of general after defeating the church forces. King Leon Alexandre assumes the title ‘Emperor of the West’. The King of Castille, Salvador Aldana dies, leaving his younger son Sandoval on the throne. Also in Castille, Alvara Arciniega discovers the light spectrum and goes into hiding after the Inquisition tries to arrest him. 1667 Montaigne begins to use a new weapon known as the ‘grenade’. 1668 AV The Inquisition announces they killed Franz Deleboe in 1661, having gained sufficient power to declare scientific experimentation to be heresy. Good King Sandoval is now 16. Alvara Arciniega invents the reflecting telescope, and Wolffrond von Hazel, a young Eisen composer, begins touring Montaigne seeking a patron.
