From: IdeKaruto@aol.com Date: Sun, 1 Aug 1999 23:04:39 EDT Subject: [7thSea] Top ten AEG nightmares at GenCon Once again proving he has no life and way too much time on his hands (time that would be better spent writing Shades of Theah File 3 and Shades of Rokugan File 15, for example), here's Ide Osamu... 10.AEG's stance on economics in Rokugan finally catches up to them when thousands of players buy Unexpected Allies and pay in koku. That's okay, however... they give out guilder as change. 9.There's a big announcement at the start of the weekend. War in the Heavens will not take place...instead there will be a giant Pokemon tournament. That's okay, however...Ree still manages to turn the result of the tournament into another kickass story, in which Hitomi and Lord Moon team up and take out Oni No Pikachu. 8.Kevin Wilson is abducted and brainwashed by Pokemon cultists for that last statement. That's okay, however...the head of the cultists turns out to be Ali Landry. 7.A LARP disaster occurs. Instead of being able to play Villanova, John Wick is forced to play Kachiko again. Don't ask. That's okay, however...slinky black kimonos really bring out the color in John's eyes. ^_^ 6.A further LARP disaster occurs. During the middle of the session, Kevin, under the influence of Ali Landry, makes his move, sending out Jigglypuff to sabotage the whole thing. That's okay, however...it turns out Jigglypuff is a Kolat sleeper agent. 5.The scheduled premiere of No Quarter doesn't occur at GenCon due to a freak accident in which the printers actually package baked potatoes instead of cards. That's okay, however...the printers remember to package the sour cream and chives. 4.At the end of War in the Heavens, a cry comes up "Oh my God! They killed Kachiko! Those bastards!" That's okay, however...it is later learned that they actually got Yogo Asami. 3.Due to a disgruntled artist working for AEG, the display for the Seventh Sea books is a siren with a big phallic shipmast behind her. That's okay, however...a creative use of scissors and duct tape rectifies the situation just in time. 2.The character in the Ronin computer game is replaced with Jar Jar Binks. That's okay, however...you can make Jar Jar commit seppuku. 1.Ide Osamu shows up at GenCon. That's okay, however...Toshimoko intercepts him and gives him private lessons. Well, I won't be showing up so that's at least one nightmare they won't have to deal with. Seriously though, good luck and good travels to all who are making it out to GenCon this year. I hope you all have fun. And just think, you won't have to put up with seeing my pointless emails for about a week.
